Our Principles

1. We believe that ‘Vertical learning’ needs to be a fundamental element of our work – this means that we draw on much of the research on emotional intelligence, neuroscience and adult development (constructive developmentalism).

2. We believe that our work needs to make a valuable contribution to the fabric of organisations and communities. By helping to create outstanding influencers, we believe they in turn will shape organisations for which people will want to work, do business, and invest. In that sense, True North must play a positive role in benefiting individuals, organisations and society.

3. We believe ongoing learning is at the core of our being, our sustainability and our resilience. We draw inspiration from ‘the more-than-human world’. It plays a vital role in our work as it reflects the human process of growth, change, transition, renewal and re-growth.

Our Values

HOLISTIC

True North uses a powerful combination of learning, leadership and self- development philosophies. We work in a way that combines horizontal and vertical learning – building character and emotional intelligence as well as imparting knowledge and honing skills. Our work develops the whole self to help you become a more skilled and effective influencer on every level.

CONNECTED

True North’s approach builds connections. We strive to connect a range of learning and development approaches; to connect ourselves to each other and to connect to the world around us. This sense of connectedness provides a strong basis for all of the development work we do with our clients.

PERSONALISED

At True North, we develop people. Whilst our programmes build skill-sets and share knowledge, our focus is on the individual. It’s one of the reasons we work intimately – in small groups, in an environment that is relaxed, positive and open yet confidential. Our expertise enables us to work at a level that transcends knowledge to nurture both the professional and the person as a whole.

PURPOSEFUL

Our many years of experience and study have equipped us with a wealth of knowledge. We have trained and mentored a huge number of leaders from a wide range of organisations, facing a plethora of challenges. Our approach aims to help our clients be conscious, purposeful and take skilful action. We know that this approach has sustainable impact.
